On Monday, the departing missionaries are driven to the mission home by their companion and another set of elders. They first weigh their luggage, then come in and everyone who is hungry eats chicken stew and rolls. The elders leave to their area, leaving behind the departing elder. He is interviewed by President Leavitt, makes a memory page, signs journals, emails home (if he hasn't), and visits with others as they arrive.
We have a departing meal and talk about their missions. After cleaning up, we have a departing meeting and hear about a memorable, uplifting event that happened during their mission. Elder Marsden and I also were needed to edit The Cumorah Crest--our mission newsletter that goes to all the missionaries on transfer day.
