I visited Sister Todd in the hospital this morning because she didn't have a cell phone with her. She was in good spirits even though she was in pain from the surgery last night on her shoulder. I went back home to pick up President Leavitt and we went to the CES classroom for our Mission Leadership Council with our zone leaders that started at 10 am.
I did a leadership training on fathers, using the Family Proclamation and Elder D. Todd Christofferson's talk titled, "Fathers". As I gave the talk, I drew an illustration on the white board. I compared traits of a good father to traits of being a good zone leader and training their district leaders to also develop those traits.
President Leavitt likened scriptural accounts to our role in miracles today in our missionary work. As we repent, are obedient, and plan and work, we are blessed. In the afternoon he counseled with the zone leaders on many topics.
Our assistants, Elder Simmons and Elder Lopuliak, presented our goal and performance review, recorded each zone's goals and focus this month, reviewed our mission newsletter, Cumorah Crest, article assignments and reminded zone leaders to continuously train new elders on BRC processes and to timely submit confirmation records so a new membership record can be created online.
After lunch our assistants also trained on Becoming Great Teachers, using PMG Chapter 10, Personal Study, PMG p. viii, Companionship Study, PMG p. viii to x, and Daily Planning Session (each evening), PG p. 154. The zone leaders will be teaching these topics at zone conference during the zone breakout session.
