14-15 July 2017 Interviews, Zone Conference, Swaziland Missionaries
The South Africa Johannesburg Mission has added the country of Swaziland to our mission. We welcome the Swaziland Missionaries!
On Friday (14 July) morning, President & Sister Leavitt, Elder Wagner (over finances & cars), Elder Hunt (over phones & flats), AP Elder Benson, AP Elder Adams, and Elder Shamanga (transferring to Swaziland from Johannesburg to finish his final transfer) drove to Swaziland.
President Leavitt held interviews, Elder Wagner held safety training and drivers' license interviews and driving tests and checked out the three vehicles, Elder Hunt went both days with Brother Dlamini to check on all the flats. Elder Benson, Elder Adams and Sister Leavitt went over the policy binder contents they each received. They also trained on the new Member Social Media Initiative that was done in interviews the past two weeks at the mission home. Elder Hunt was the member and Elder Adams and Elder Shamanga did the role-playing for the missionaries to observe after the training. Unfortunately, each companionship didn't have time to role play, so they will have to do it for real their first time with members in Swaziland. We know they will be successful.
On Saturday morning, our Mbombela (Nelspruit) and KaNymazane District drove to Mbabane, Swaziland for Zone Conference. Elder & Sister Jensen (moved from Potchefstroom on Thursday to take Elder & Sister Black's place as they flew home on Friday,14 July), Elder Davey, Elder Averell, Elder Reynolds, and Elder Kokotiko.

Note--More to come: I wanted to get something published on the Swaziland transition and missionaries. I hope to get more done on this and the other Zone Conferences last week. But Elder Eki is leaving today and I need to prepare lunch, etc. for his interview, lunch and departure materials--never enough time. We couldn't access any internet while in Swaziland this weekend that was more than a very slow crawl at the hotel--which we weren't at very much. ~Sister Leavitt
