25 July 2017 Transfer Day
Joseph, a hired diver, picked up Elders Hlope, Zitumane, Derea, Malunga, Matanga, and Mbiriwiri from the mission home at 5:45 am, and drove them to the airport to fly to their homes on morning flights. We gave them boxed breakfasts.
The rest of us left at 6:45 am to drive to the mission office. President and Sister Leavitt, Elder Adams, Elder West, Elder Wride, Elder A'home'e picked up Elder Ratshikhopha from the MTC on Tuesday morning at 7 am and walked across the parking lot to the mission office where President Leavitt interviewed him. Elder West's uncle picked him up at 10 am. Then between 8 and 9:30 am, President Leavitt interviewed each Zone Leader while transfers were happening outside. I tried to take a lot of pictures this time.
We were asked to babysit from Monday evening until Thursday morning at 6 am an MTC missionary who had an emergency appendectomy on Thursday. Elder Samatanda was assigned the first shift. He walked into the MTC to eat dinner with Elder Zimulo before taking him across the street to the new AP flat to stay with together. They were so happy to spend a lot of time together catching up as they are friends from the past.
Elder Adams received a new AP companion, Elder Wikaira. They took Elders Wride and A'home'e to the airport and then waited around to pick up our Elders who flew into Joburg from the Provo MTC, landing at 7 pm (their plane was very late). So we fed them a late dinner and they all slept at the mission home Tuesday night.
