13 November 2017, Sunday
Elder Adams had his departure interview with President Leavitt Sunday afternoon between their busy schedule of church and appointments.
14 November 2017, Monday
Elder Adams had his farewell Braii dinner of steaks, wors, corn on the cob and carrots (all his favorites) on Monday evening with his fellow APs Elders Wikaira and Wolfgramm and President and Sister Leavitt. Elder Adams got in a final game of ping pong with Elder Wikaira while Elder Wolfgramm manned the braii.
Elders Adams, Wikaira, and Wolfgramm traveled to the airport to pick up Elder Rash from his 4:30 pm plane arrival. They ate dinner together and then waved a final good bye to Elder Adams as he flew home on a 9:15 pm flight to Ireland. They returned to the mission home where they slept overnight. President and Sister Leavitt left for the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Johannesburg where they attended the Mission Presidents Seminar until they drove back late Friday night. They visited with Elder and Sister Hunt at the Life Flora Hospital as they left and in the Hunts' flat as they returned.
16 November 2017, Wednesday
The office Elders Wride and Pratt picked up Elder Leterme at the Tambo airport after he landed at 7:15 am. They brought him in to join Elder Rash and the APs for Sister Leavitt's cinnamon rolls, along with yogurt and bananas. They participated in orientation and then had lunch at the mission home.
Elder Rash is companions with Elder Blow (trainer) and Elder Soglohoun (he just received a short extension to his visa at the end of the week). Elder Leterme is companions with Elder Warnock (leaving 28 November 2017) and Elder Ratshikhopha (trainer), serving in Katlehong in Bedfordview Zone.
After orientation and training and taking the driver's test with Elder Wagner, Elder Rash left for his area with his new companions.
16 November 2017, Thursday
Elder Leterme will leave on Thursday to go to his area in Kwa-Thema in the Benoni Zone after Elder Warnock (with Elder Soglohoun) comes in early Thursday morning to sign up at 6 am for school at home.
17 November 2017, Friday
Elder Hunt spent from Saturday to Friday (11-17 November) in the hospital due to complications following surgery to extract a kidney stone. Elder Hunt has had a long ordeal. Elder and Sister Hunt have served so well in all their assignments. We will miss their devoted and conscientious service as those in authority have made the decision it is best that Elder and Sister Hunt return home to his doctors. They will fly home sometime next week.
19 November 2017, Saturday
President Leavitt held 14 random, but needed, interviews before making transfer decisions, from 9 am until almost 8 pm. Two of the interviews were the first ones for Elder Rash and Elder Leterme. (I totally forgot to take pictures with all the missionaries here. I will hopefully remember to take them later.) Sister Leavitt is glad they stopped and bought enough chicken twisters at KFC on their way home Friday night, before visiting with the Hunts, to feed hungry missionaries on Saturday.
