30 November 2017 Interviews & Training, Swaziland
President Leavitt and I drove to the Mbabane Chapel in Swaziland Thursday morning. While President Leavitt interviewed all 16 missionaries, I first set up the table display our office staff have worked hard to produce for each of our eight zones, so they can use it in their #LightTheWorld proselyting events. The missionaries are excited to use the display items this month.
Each "#LightTheWorld kit" has a tablecloth, two gold ribbons for decorating the table, a sign that reads "Christ is the Light" (all which Sister Wagner did), and a #LightTheWorld poster on foam board with a gold-sprayed cardboard stand, a tall vertical #LightTheWorld banner (Elder Pratt designed the church poster into a banner to be printed to fit old stands we had at the office), along with #LightTheWorld pass-along cards the Church provided from this year and last year, and #LightTheWorld fold-out brochures Elder Pratt redesigned so the printing shop in Africa could print them (many people do not have enough internet access, so they can use the brochures for their daily service references). Also, we had some broken DVD players turned in over time that missionaries use in their flats for their training and study time. Elder Pratt was able to take them apart and fix eight--one for each zone. Then he downloaded all the #LightTheWorld videos from last year and this year and converted them so they can play on the DVD players. Since we were going to throw them away as they were broken, we are letting each zone have one on each table to play during their #LightTheWorld" proselyting events.
We watched the #LightTheWorld" video and the 25 daily videos so the missionaries would be familiar with them.
Then I presented training on using Temple and Family History in missionary work. I will explain more on my interview posts on Christmas Day, December 25, when I am through training during all the interview days.
They are looking at the #LightTheWorld display but I didn't take a picture of it. There will be a picture of it on later posts as the zones use it during their #LightTheWorld proselyting events. |
