2019 Aug 26-Sept 21 Interviews and Training

Training during interviews the transfer cycle of 21 August through 2 October was accomplished from 26 August through 21 September 2019.

I am publishing this so you can see the photos. I might add names later, but not very likely. I didn't get photos of all our training sessions. I also didn't take any photos of President Leavitt in interviews. Maybe I will remember to take some this transfer cycle. This is the best I have time to do for now.

We talked about our missionary purpose regarding technology and social media and went over some rules to guide our use and help keep us and others safe. We also looked at Facebook accounts and came up with ways we could use them for our missionary purpose to teach others the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and help them find Jesus Christ's church on the earth in these last days so they can know and keep commandments and covenants to enable them to return to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and enjoy all the blessings of exaltation in the Celestial Kingdom.

We did some interviews in missionary flats, some at the mission home in person and some by WhatsApp video chat.

2019 Sept 7, 10-11 Mid-Transfer

On Saturday, September 7, 2019, after finishing six interviews and training in the morning, President and Sister Leavitt drove to the Mozambique border to pick up Elder Oliveria Chirinza. Elder Chirinza has been serving in his country of Mozambique for ten months awaiting a South African visa. After not receiving one, he came to serve in our mission in Eswatini for his remaining 14 months of service. We drove Elder Chirinza to Mbabane and introduced him to and left him with his new companions, Elder James and Elder Mickelson. We drove back to Ezulwini to buy some food for dinner and for Sunday's drive back to the mission home with Elder Boshoff and Elder Lee.

On Sunday, 8 September, President Leavitt and Sister Leavitt attended the Ezulwini Branch. After church, we put all of Elder Boshoff's luggage in our vehicle as he said goodbye to his zone leader companions, Elder Bosavac and Elder Willison. We drove to Nhlangano. President Leavitt and Elder Kisembo went to the church to interview a young man submitting his missionary papers for 90 minutes. We packed up Elder C. Lee and when they returned to the flat, Elder Boshoff, Elder Lee, President and I drove to the mission home, arriving at 10 pm. We all had a bowl of cereal and went to bed.

Tuesday, 10 September, after office staff meeting in the morning at the mission office and right after five interviews and training at the mission home, President Leavitt interviewed the departing missionaries, Elder Lee, Elder Boshoff and Elder Harris. Sister Leavitt fed all the accompanying companions dropping them off. The office elders, Elders Flood, Green and Tobiasson, picked up Elder Osborne from the airport at 5 pm (he flew in from Australia) and dropped him at the mission home at 6:50 pm and they all ate in the kitchen. Elder Boshoff and Elder Harris went and picked up Elder Sande from his flat in Kagiso to join our departing dinner and program.

We had our departing dinner in the dining room with Elder Lee, Elder Boshoff, Elder Harris, Elder Sande, and our assistants, Elder Jolley and Elder Mpapa. Elder Osborne joined us to visit after he finished eating with the office elders. After we had our departing meeting, we cleaned up, packed for Wednesday, sang Happy Birthday to my brother and our grandson, and went to bed.

Wednesday, 11 September, Transfer Day

The assistants picked up Elder Harris at 6:20 am to drive to the airport for his departure home. The rest of us left at 6:30 am to drop the food and crock-pots at the CES building and pick up our new incoming MTC ESL missionary, Elder Diogo Dos Santos.

We all had breakfast, did orientation and training sessions, listened to instruction from President Leavitt and ate lunch. We took pictures and the elders departed for their areas and we met a district of elders at the mission home for interviews and training.
