Sunday evening at 6-7 pm, we had a virtual tour conducted by two Sister missionaries of the two Joseph Smith family homes and the Sacred Grove where Joseph Smith experienced the First Vision of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ visiting him.
I didn't take any photos until after the tour was finished and the Sister Missionaries had left our meeting. President Leavitt's parents joined us and both expressed their testimonies.
Sister Rambau went home with her mother on 23 August 2020 for further medical attention. She has served well.
Tonight we had a virtual tour of Carthage Jail where the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother, Hyrum Smith spent their last days and were murdered. It was an informative and sacred experience.
Sunday night we had two special speakers. The first one was Elder Burke, our area medical mental health advisor. Our second one was a second update visit from Dennis Freire, who had just finished his 38 radiation treatments for cancer. They gave good advice and both bore wonderful testimonies.
On Wednesday, we held our Mission Leadership Council on Zoom from 3-6 pm. All the zone leaders and sister training leaders attend. During the meeting, among many other things, we talked about exercise groups meeting again if everyone is careful and obeys the rules. This means wearing masks, staying physically distant and shopping after.
Tonight at our Sabbath Gathering, each told of missionary teaching experiences where the Holy Ghost was involved. We heard some very special experiences.
On Thursday, we met on Zoom from 10-3 with a 45 minute lunch break for zone conference with the East, West and Central Zones.
President and Sister Nielson were our guest speakers at our Sabbath Gathering Sunday night. The missionaries were all introduced to them and they introduced themselves to the missionaries. This month, the Nielsons will meet with each companionship over Zoom. At the end, we briefly went over the COVID-19 numbers in South Africa for the missionaries to see what is happening here.
