2019 Dec 3-4 Transfer

December 3, 2019

Elder Bete came on Wednesday at 5:30 pm, after a day of 12 scheduled missionary interviews and training at the mission home and a few other disasters to take care of, to have his departing interview with President Leavitt, weigh his luggage, make a memory page and eat a departing dinner with us and the assistants and have our departing meeting which ended at 11 pm, before retiring to bed.

After breakfast on Thursday morning, the office elders, Elders Green and Smith, came and took Elder Bete to the airport to fly home to Fiji.

In the middle of interviews about 1 pm, Elder Savior Bvute, arrived with his branch president and counselor from the Ennerdale Branch to be released from his mission to Zimbabwe. They had picked him up at the bus station and brought him to the mission home to be released as a missionary before taking him to Ennerdale. Ennerdale Branch is in the Vaal District so President Leavitt is like the stake president for all those branches. He is over 18 branches and some groups in three districts and three dependent mission branches.

We received a call from the area office saying that Elder Espino from Canada serving in Madagascar had his passport and visa stamped incorrectly when he entered Madagascar and now he had to leave the country. They obtained a 90-day visa for him to come and serve in South Africa while they sort things. We are happy to have Elder Espino join us.

Elder Green and Elder Smith picked Elder Espino up at the airport at 5:10 pm and brought him to the mission home. They ate in the kitchen while we ate in the dining room. Elder Espino was tired and went to bed in our basement. Elder and Sister Rees also came and slept in the back bedroom while Elder and Sister Oliver slept in the Bungalow. We leave for the Senior Missionary Conference in the morning. President Leavitt and I will leave later when he is through with the interview, transfer and paperwork tomorrow (and packing as we will be staying Saturday and Sunday in Nelspruit for the Mbombela District Conference).
