1-2 May 2017 Transfer Days

1 May 2017, Monday

Elder Benson is called as an Assistant to the President to serve with Elder Zitumane. Elder Campbell is released as an Assistant to the President and called to be a trainer.

Pictures below are having lunch at the Mission Home with departing Elder Mazinyane, Elder Rouse, Elder Sibanda, Elder Allen, and Elder Gwaka, making a memory page for Sister Leavitt, departing interviews with President Leavitt, playing Ping Pong games and having Family Home Evening with wonderful testimonies and singing our Mission song with President Leavitt accompanying on guitar and Elder Benson on violin:

2 May 2017, Tuesday, Transfer Day

President and Sister Leavitt and four (Elder Allen spent the day in bed with the flu until he flew home at 8 pm) departing Elders pick up nine new Elders from the Johannesburg Mission Training Center and walk them to the mission office with their luggage to receive their orientation and new Trainer companion and start their service as missionaries in the South Africa Johannesburg Mission. Elder Resek flew in to Johannesburg from the Argentina MTC, arriving at the mission office about 3:30 pm to have his orientation, eat and receive his Trainer companion.

Breakfast and orientation with the new and departing Elders. Sister Leavitt treating the departing, and new Elders and trainers with homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast. She made enough for all who came in for transfers to have one.

Sister Hunt, Sister Wagner and Sister Wells present their training and tours of the facilities.

Meanwhile--out in the parking lot, transfers are taking place--and getting to eat cinnamon rolls.

Lunch time--Sloppy Joes!

After President Leavitt finished interviewing all the new missionaries and deciding who was going to train which new Elder, he announced the companionships.

During new missionary orientation, trainers and some departing Elders went tracking in Elder Campbell's new area and acquired many new referrals to give him and his new companion a jump start!

  1. Thank you for taking the time to post all of the photos, Sister Leavitt. We appreciate you so much. Those new elders look great and so do their trainers! I love seeing all of the pics and sometimes catching a glimpse of my elder, Elder Austin. What a sweet work. Thank you for all that you and Pres. Leavitt do to bless the missionaries and to hasten the work there in South Africa.
