14-15 August 2017 Elder Daki Departs, Elders Lubwama, Soglohoun arrive

14 August 2017, Monday

Elder Daki arrived at the mission office and was transported to the mission home by President and Sister Leavitt. He weighed his bags and had his exit interview with President Leavitt. The APs (Elder Adams and Elder Wikaira) picked Elder Lubwama up from the Joburg MTC at 5 pm and brought him to the mission home. We all had dinner (along with Elder Engrom) at 5:30 pm.

At 6:30 pm, President Leavitt, Sister Leavitt and the APs had our final FHE meeting with Elder Daki before taking some flu medicine and going to sleep for the night.

At 8:30 pm, Elders Davey and Wilcox arrived. We took pictures of President and Sister Leavitt with Elder Lubwama and his new trainer, Elder Davey. They left for their area. The rest of us all went to bed at the mission home.

(Note: Due to a construction worker digging through a water pipe, we didn't have water from Sunday morning until Tuesday morning.)

15 August 2017, Tuesday

Our office Elders Wride and Lambert picked up Elder Daki at 5:20 am to drive him to the airport to fly home to Durban. They stayed there and picked up Elder Soglohoun, arriving from the Ghana MTC via Nairobi. They ate a late lunch on the way to the mission home.

Meanwhile, Elder Mbaki and Elder Kokotiko drove from KaNyamazane with Elder and Sister Jensen, arriving at the mission home at 11:30 am. Elder Wilcox (after loading his things in the baki) and Elder Kokotiko drove back to KaNyamazane with the Jensens.

President interviewed Elder Soglohoun and we took pictures with him and his trainer, Elder Mbaki. I trained them on our Companion Study, etc. At 4 pm, the APs drove them to Kwa-Thema to get this new companionship set up. The ZLs picked up Elders Mbaki and Soglohoun and took them to dinner and introduced them to their new area.

Meanwhile, from 9 am to 3 pm, President did the Vaal Zone interviews and Sister Leavitt did training on Companion Study at the mission home.

After everyone was gone, President and Sister Leavitt packed and drove to the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Rosebank to stay the night, after eating a 9 pm dinner at The Grill House at the adjoining The Firs Shopping Center. They have New Mission Presidents' Orientation Wednesday and Thursday at the Area Office.
