30 August 2017 Interviews Swaziland/Mbombela

30 August 2017 Interviews Swaziland/Mbombela

We drove to Swaziland on Wednesday morning. President Leavitt held interviews from 2:15-6:30 pm with the 12 Swaziland Elders while Sister Leavitt did training on Companion Study. Each companionship prepared a lesson plan on the investigator scenario they picked (following PMG/Elder Renlund's MTC talk as outlined in Sister Leavitt's article in the 5 September 2017 Cumorah Crest, #53). When finished or while their companion was in interviews, they read an article by Joseph Fielding McConkie, "The First Vision and Religious Tolerance".

At 6:30 pm President and Sister Leavitt drove to the Manzini Chapel where President Leavitt met with Brother Simelane and then Sister Simelane. President Leavitt then called Brother Simelane as his 2nd Counselor in the South Africa Johannesburg Mission presidency to join Elder Wagner, 1st Counselor and Elder Hunt as Secretary. President Leavitt set him apart after we had a nice visit.

We safely returned to our hotel in Mbabane (through rain and fog). At 7:30 pm at the Mbabane Chapel, our APs, Elder Adams and Elder Wikaira, held district leader training (along with their companions).
