9 January 2018, Transfer Day

9 January 2018, Transfer Day

We had no new incoming missionaries, but had some missionaries being transferred to a new area or receiving a new companion.

Saying good-bye to some of their Joburg MTC missionaries (Elder Jolley was one).

MTC President and Sister Ashton, packing to leave on Saturday.

Elder Pulley and Elder Cox, ZLs, leaving for
Ezulwini, Swaziland.

After transfers, President and Sister Ashton took us to their favorite park, Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens. We went for a short walk and ate lunch at Woolworths. We returned to the MTC, and the Ashtons continued packing. We went back to work at the office, since we had no orientation, interviews or trainer meetings of new missionaries. It was a nice, beautiful farewell to the Ashtons. President and Sister Bester will be the new MTC President and companion.

About 3 pm, we had a violent thunder and lightening storm pass through. Lightening hit the top of the light post and blew to top glass up and the green top was on the ground. We were thankful for our computer surge protectors and that it didn't hit our building.

Picture out Sister Wagner's office window. The far light post got hit with lightening.

Former Elder Mazinyane stopped in to say hi--with Elder Pratt and Elder Marsden, Office Elders
