21-22 April 2018 Elder James Arrives

21 April 2018, Saturday

Elder James went to the Provo MTC. He served two weeks in Sturgis, South Dakota as a missionary in the North Dakota Bismark Mission while awaiting his visa to serve in the Johannesburg South Africa Mission.

Elder James received his visa and arrived Saturday evening. Our office Elders, Elder Pratt and Elder Marsden picked him up at the airport and safely delivered him to the mission home at 6:50 pm. Elder James took a shower, ate dinner with us, and went to bed.

22 April 2018, Sunday

Elder James went to the Florida Ward with President and Sister Leavitt. He sat with Elder Powell and Elder Curriden and their investigators. Elder James participated in two confirmations and helped enrich the Gospel Principles class lesson. We took him to the mission home while the assistants had four interviews. We ate lunch and President Leavitt interviewed Elder James. Elder Powell and Elder Curriden came and ate lunch. Then they took him on some teaching appointments. They returned at 7:30 pm for dinner. We also had some mission items to counsel on together. The assistants took him to their flat for the night and preparation day. On Monday, we have five outgoing missionaries coming to the mission home for departing interviews, dinner, FHE, sleeping over and flying home on Tuesday. We will pick up four new missionaries from the MTC on Tuesday morning. We have another missionary flying in from England on Wednesday if he receives his visa on Monday.
