19 October 2017 Evacuation Madagascar Missionaries

19 October 2017 Evacuation Madagascar Missionaries

On Thursday night, Five Madagascar Missionaries being transferred to missions in the United States mistakenly got off the plane in Johannesburg with some other missionaries who were to get off the plane and fly to Durban and Cape Town. The area office called and asked if they could bring them for us to take care of them until they could get on another plane to the United States.

They arrived about an hour later. I was blessed to have put chicken, vegetables and broth to fill a whole crock pot as the Jensens were also staying the night at the mission home in order to fly home the next day. They wanted to attend the temple and shop before leaving. I also had leftover hamburger buns from the Sloppy Joes I served at MLC on Wednesday. I made garlic butter to spread on the buns and we toasted them in the oven. Everyone was filled up and we all went to bed.

Mpho Paul from the Area Travel Department, along with our three APs, bring them to our home. They had taken Elder Campbell to the airport to pick up his parents to tour with him. Elder Campbell stayed with us in the Mission Home on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was like old times when he was our AP. We used him to help with some projects for two days.

20 October 2017 Friday Morning: Elder Campbell and his parents stop in the mission office to meet everyone and say, Hi.

The night of 20 October 2017, Friday, office Elders took the Jensens to the airport to catch their plane. Our APs took our five Madagascar Elders to try to get them back on a plane. They got three of them on and brought the other two back along with two more Elders who arrived from Madagascar, who will be our missionaries.
